POLK COUNTY, Iowa– A 23-year-old man accused of beating his infant to death during an early morning assault last Summer has pleaded not guilty in the case.
Dylan James Brown, who court records show, was in the process of changing his name to “Guy Green” when the incident happened, is charged with first-degree murder, child endangerment resulting in death, and domestic abuse assault by impeding air or blood flow causing bodily injury.
According to the Polk County Sheriff’s Office, on Aug. 7, 2025, emergency responders were called to a home on Northeast Jacob Street in Grimes for a report of a 2-month-old girl who was not breathing. Court documents alleged that the mother of the child awoke to Brown hitting the baby. When she tried to stop him, he allegedly hit her in the head and chased her out of the bedroom before strangling her in a “bear hug” until she passed out…
