SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) — Train cars transporting corn derailed Wednesday morning near Crooks, according to a news release from Minnehaha County officials.
“Minnehaha County Sheriff’s Office responded to a train derailment near 256th Street and 469th Ave Northwest of Crooks,” officials said.

No injuries were reported. The incident happened at 7 a.m. BNSF will be recovering the cars and making repairs, and the cause of the derailment is under investigation.
No roadways were damaged, however, 469th Ave North of 256th Street has been closed. The closed portion is open to local traffic, emergency vehicles, and BNSF equipment and staff, the news release said. Approximately five cars derailed, according to BNSF…
