SCOTTSDALE, AZ (AZFamily) — A long-anticipated attraction for Arizona Boardwalk that billed itself as the largest indoor rainforest in North America is facing a setback to becoming a reality anytime soon.
Paradise Earth last week failed to be approved for a conditional use permit after a tribal council raised concerns about the massive project and the wildlife it plans to house.
The council for the Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community (SRPMIC) decided unanimously last Wednesday to postpone a vote on the permit until they’re given more information about the indoor rainforest. It’s unclear when the issue of a conditional permit for Paradise Earth would come before the council again…
