The Jefferson County Attorney will not pursue criminal charges against the Louisville Metro sanitation workers involved in the February death of 35-year-old Tyrah Adams.
Adams died after a waste management crew accidentally crushed her with a hydraulic boom arm and claw during a sweep for trash in a Russell neighborhood alleyway. Adams was concealed inbeneath a pile of junk the crew targeted for removal.
The Louisville Metro Police Department’s Public Integrity Unit closed its inquiry into Adams’ death on May 11 after a prosecutor said, in a letter to an investigator, “there is not a reasonable likelihood of conviction on any criminal charge,” according to public records obtained by the Kentucky Center for Investigative Reporting…
