Fairhope looks into establishing city-run school system

FAIRHOPE, Ala. (WALA) – A new feasibility study has found it could be financially possible for Fairhope to establish its own city-run school system, separate from the Baldwin County Public School System.

Gulf Shores and Orange Beach have already broken away from Baldwin County schools. City officials said many Fairhope residents want more local control over education and better athletic facilities, though officials said they are satisfied with the city’s current schools.
