Two off-duty Bergen County sheriff’s deputies helped restrain a passenger accused of becoming violent aboard a United Airlines flight that departed Newark Liberty International Airport on Thursday, according to retired Minneapolis Police Chief Brian O’Hara, who assisted in the effort.
O’Hara, who was traveling with his wife on United Flight 1364 from Newark to Fort Lauderdale, told Fox News Digital that flight attendants spent nearly 45 minutes trying to calm the passenger before the situation turned physical. O’Hara said he later learned from the Broward Sheriff’s Office that the man had become agitated after crew members declined to serve him more alcohol.
