This weekend, the Girard community is coming together for the 55th annual mile-long yard sale.
From tents in front yards selling knick-knacks to lawn gear to local vendors dropping in for the sale, shoppers browsed along Lake Street, Rice Avenue and other nearby streets for some unique finds on Friday.

Those participating said the weekend is an opportunity to sell items they no longer use for a reasonable price to neighbors instead of them ending up in a landfill.
