FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) – Approval of a settlement totaling more than $1 million for the family of a woman who died in the Allen County Jail was a key item on the agenda of Friday’s Allen County Board of Commissioners meeting.
In June 2021, 18-year-old Ariona Paige Darling died by suicide. Her family filed a wrongful death lawsuit in federal court two years later, and the list of defendants included the commissioners and former Allen County Sheriff David Gladieux.
