Blitz operation catches drug users allegedly stealing $205 merchandise from Walmart

A Summerfield woman and her cohort caught stealing during a blitz operation received additional charges for drug paraphernalia.

This week, the Marion County Sheriff’s Office took part in a National Retail Blitz operation, according to an arrest report from the MCSO. It was during this operation that they uncovered a theft involving 52-year-old Connie Jean Lynch and 39-year-old John Pappas-Pappaskospas at Walmart, 17961 S U.S. Hwy. 441, Summerfield.

Using surveillance footage and eyewitness testimony, law enforcement determined they had stolen several pieces of merchandise on Wednesday. The pair passed all points of sale with $205.42 worth of stolen goods on their persons, the report said.

They were then detained on the sidewalk in front of the store and escorted back inside. Lynch consented to a search of her purse, revealing a clear cut straw that tested positive for methamphetamine and a clear baggie with residue that tested positive for fentanyl, the report said…
