Minneapolis man charged after shooting wife during divorce

A Minneapolis man was charged Friday after he shot his wife and threatened to kill her during a divorce, according to a criminal complaint.

On Sunday, Minneapolis police responded to a shooting around 8:50 p.m. near 13th Avenue South and Lake Street. The woman told officers her husband shot her while she was in her vehicle.

Police identified the husband as 60-year-old Antone Owens and was charged with second-degree of intentional murder and second-degree assault. He was also charged for illegally possessing a firearm and ammunition after a violent-crime conviction

The woman told police Owens walked up to her car, pulled out a gun and fired twice, hitting her in the wrist. She then drove herself to a nearby hospital, according to the criminal complaint…
