A landscaping contractor has accepted full responsibility and will cover all costs after a routine chemical treatment severely damaged drought-stressed turf along a major thoroughfare in The Villages.
Cepra, a contracted landscape maintenance provider in The Villages, recently applied standard weed control and fertilizer along Morse Boulevard near the Village of Chitty Chatty and the Village of Bradford, south of State Road 44. Unfortunately, because the St. Augustine turf was already under significant stress from ongoing drought conditions and strict water restrictions, the treatment caused substantial damage.
District Property Management Director Mike Harris notified officials of the mishap in a recent memo, assuring them that the contractor is stepping up to fix the problem.
