SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) — The Outside Lands festival kicks off on Friday in San Francisco’s Golden Gate Park. Headliners for this year’s installment of the annual festival include Charlie xcx, the Strokes and Rufus Du Sol.
With thousands of festivalgoers expected to descend on the park throughout the three-day festival, street closures are in effect, and organizers are encouraged to take public transportation.

On the week leading up to the festival, JFK Drive from Transverse to 36th Avenue will be closed. JFK Drive from Transverse to 36th Avenue will remain closed through to Wednesday.
Vehicle access to Golden Gate Park will also be limited through Sunday at 11 p.m. and include all the roads in the west side of the park from Transverse to the Great Highway.
North side of the park road closures:

- 30th Avenue
- 36th Avenue
- 43rd Avenue (Chain of Lakes)
- 47th Avenue
- The Great Highway at JFK Drive
South side of the park road closures:
- Martin Luther King Jr. Drive at Crossover Drive
- 25th Avenue
- Sunset Boulevard at Irving Street
- 41st Avenue (Chain of Lakes)
- Martin Luther King Jr. Drive at Lincoln Avenue
