STATEN ISLAND (PIX11)– A Staten Island community is coming together to help one of their neighbors in need.
An electrical fire destroyed veterinarian Peter Astarbi’s mobile clinic outside his home in Annadale. Now, a GoFundMe page has raised more than $45,000.

“It really is humbling the amount of feedback I got from current clients and even people I hadn’t even seen in 15-20 years people calling me up once they heard what happened,” Astarbi told PIX11 News.
Dr. Pete’s doorbell camera captured the moment his livelihood for the past 25 years went up in flames at the end of June. He says he was underinsured and repairs to his 2003 Ford van will cost $50,000. A used van will run him about $150,000. Without it, he can’t perform life-saving surgeries and is limited to whatever space he has in his personal car. He makes house calls for pet owners who can’t leave the house…
