Great Taste of the Midwest, Madison Mini Marathon move forward after weeks of event disruptions

MADISON, Wis. (WMTV) – After several Madison events were canceled, postponed or disrupted in recent weeks, organizers behind two longtime traditions say they are ready to welcome thousands of people Saturday.

The 39th Great Taste of the Midwest is expected to bring roughly 10,500 people and nearly 200 breweries to Olin Park. The breweries come from across Wisconsin and a wide swath of the Midwest, including as far as the Dakotas, Nebraska, Missouri, Ohio and Michigan.

“My predecessors scoured through 30 years of farmers’ almanacs and weather data before we landed on the 2nd Saturday in August,” Chairman Doug Randall said.
