In Kentucky, more than 200 dogs have been removed from an isolated breeding operation and are now beginning rescue care.
A staggering total of 244 dogs have been rescued, prompting a wide response from nonprofits, foster volunteers, and animal advocates working to help animals that had allegedly been kept in severe neglect.
What happened?
According to Guardians of Rescue, a nonprofit focused on animal rescue and welfare, the group traveled to rural Metcalfe County, east of Bowling Green, to assist with a major operation tied to what it called a “horrible breeding situation.”
WLKY said the investigation was set in motion after a buyer obtained a sick dog from the breeders and contacted police, who then turned to Guardians of Rescue for assistance.
