MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Two people were injured Saturday night when someone in a pickup truck drove onto a downtown sidewalk, apparently striking them on purpose.
Police responded at 10:30 p.m. to Danny Thomas Boulevard near Jefferson and found two victims lying on the sidewalk with bruises and abrasions. One was unable to speak due to injuries.
One of the victims told police they were walking southbound on the sidewalk when a gray pickup drove onto the sidewalk at a high rate of speed and hit them.

A bystander also told police that the assault happened after the victims and suspects got into an argument in the parking lot of Taco-N-Ganas nearby. The bystander told police a man and a woman were in the truck…
