Businesses boom during Route 66 Festival

This year’s Birthplace of Route 66 Festival in Springfield concludes after two-days of events and thousands of tourists all around downtown, with local businesses saying they felt a spike in sales.

“We’ve been doing really, really good today.” said Ryan Tatum, General Manager at Black Sheep downtown, “It’s been nonstop all day long.”

Tatum said they try to try plan ahead for festival, making sure they are fully staffed for the busy week. He believes that event’s popularity seems to be growing as times goes on…
