MOBILE, Ala. (WALA) – A Mobile city councilman invited the public to Tricentennial Park for the second annual Community Prayer Walk as students prepare to return to school.
District 1 City Councilman Cory Penn organized the event around the theme “One City, One Walk, One Prayer,” with a focus on asking for protection, peace, and wisdom over children, families, public safety, and the city of Mobile.
Councilman speaks on community importance
Penn said the event carries significance for the broader community.
“We’re praying over our teachers, our students, that the atmosphere is conducive for them to learn and we declare, Lord, that the grades will be up and they will perform academically at the level that they desire,” Penn said. “Great behavior, no issues in the school. That’s what we’re looking forward to and we just want to come in agreement with the teachers, the administration, with the school system.”…
