How to protect your home from dangerous dryer accidents

WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) – A four-year-old died in southeast Kansas due to an electric shock from a dryer. The Allen County Sheriff’s Office said that the child’s death was likely an accident.

Metro Appliances, a Wichita appliance company, is sharing some steps you can take to prevent dangerous accidents from happening in your own home.

“First, I would say read the instruction manual that comes with them, or YouTube has great ways to make sure they’re hooked up properly,” said Steven Goss with Metro Appliances. “Other things we see are just bad outlets that are not properly secured. They’re not properly capped. They’re not plugged.”…
