Increased traffic due to Sturgis Rally causes concern

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) — The Department of Transportation is urging drivers to stay safe on the road as people come from all over the nation and internationally for the Sturgis Rally.

With traffic increasing for the annual Sturgis Motorcycle Rally, officials have seen a lot of reckless driving.

“Definitely a lot more vehicles, a lot more motorcycles, a lot of groups, a lot of people speeding. So it just causes a lot of people to have to do extra on their part, trying to drive defensively to make sure they’re being safe and making sure the people around them are being safe as well,” South Dakota Highway Patrol District Three Lieutenant Shann Barrick said…
