Brownsburg to consider implementing its own wheel tax

BROWNSBURG, Ind. (WISH) — Brownsburg could soon become the most recent of central Indiana communities to consider implementing a wheel tax on all drivers.

According to an agenda item, the proposed ordinance outlines a municipal vehicle excise surtax and a municipal wheel tax.

The $25 surtax rate would be standard across all vehicle types, including passenger cars, motorcycles, electric bikes, “collector vehicles,” trucks, trailers, mini trucks, and military vehicles…
