KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — A Knox County judge ordered an emergency deposition of Sheriff Tom Spangler to preserve his testimony in the Knox County Sheriff’s Office corruption case involving 11 defendants, all current or former sheriff’s office employees, according to court documents signed Monday.
The “Agreed Order for Proof Deposition,” signed Aug. 10 by Judge Don R. Ash, points to Spangler’s “rapidly declining health” as the reason for the move.
