An Asian water monitor lizard missing for nearly a month is back with its owners in Tennessee after multiple sightings of the “dinosaur” by concerned neighbors.
The lizard, which is around six feet long, escaped its owner in the area of Main Street in Wartrace back on July 20. The owner posted on Facebook, saying the beloved lizard was missed and asking neighbors to be on the lookout.
On Friday, Aug. 7, Bedford County Animal Control shared an image of the lizard on Facebook, saying it was found on Spring Street in Wartrace.
“If you know where home is, please reach out,” the agency said. With only one outstanding Asian water monitor known to be in the area, its owner was quickly notified, and the Bedford County Sheriff’s Office assisted with reunification…
