FAIRHOPE, Ala. (WALA) – Thomas Hospital opened a new medical wing Tuesday, drawing community leaders from across Baldwin County to a ribbon-cutting ceremony on the hospital campus.
Construction on the four-story tower began in January 2025 at a cost of $40 million and was completed one month ahead of schedule. Two floors remain shelled in to allow for future expansion.
What the new wing includes
The new wing adds 25 medical surgical beds and an expanded Cath Lab expected to be finished in 2027. The expansion also includes a rooftop helipad and a multi-tier parking garage. Hospital staff began admitting patients to the new beds the same day the wing opened…
