Pittsburgh Mayor Corey O’Connor celebrates progress in tearing down dangerous buildings

Mayor Corey O’Connor says the city’s demolition program is expected to exceed previous years’ numbers by 50-300%.

His administration says the city expects to have over 150 properties under contract for city-funded demolition by the end of the year. They say that’s 50 more than a typical year and three times more than in 2024.
