SAVANNAH, Ga. (WSAV) — Vocalist and promoter Thomas Claxton, who hails from Effingham County, is set to bring a piece of rock history to the Savannah stage this September with his “Behind the Hits” concert series.
The series features live performances, interactive Q&A panels and a bit of storytelling with some of the most world-renowned performers in music history, many of whom Claxton has worked with throughout his career. Every show has a unique line-up.
In September, Rock and Roll Hall of Famers Elliot Easton and Greg Hawkes, founding members of The Cars, will make their way to the Coastal Empire. Joining them will be bassist Kasim Sulton who toured and recorded with Todd Rundgren’s band Utopia, Meat Loaf and more.
The upcoming concert will offer fans an interactive deep dive into classic anthems like “Just What I Needed,” “Drive,” “My Best Friend’s Girl” and many more. This is definitely not a tribute concert. The events are a dynamic retrospective combining live signature arrangements with firsthand reflections on how those tracks were crafted, direct from the original artists of the songs, albums and tours…
