HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, Fla. (WFLA) — Hillsborough County deputies arrested 4 men and recovered over $300,000 in stolen merchandise connected to an organized retail theft operation responsible for targeting businesses across the Tampa Bay area, according to the sheriff’s office.
The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office said its retail theft unit identified a group responsible for committing thefts at multiple retailers throughout the region between June 1 and July 1.
According to detectives, the suspects concealed merchandise and exited stores without paying. They then delivered the stolen property to another residence, where it was resold.
