A dark and difficult case: that’s how a federal judge in Pierre described the death of 15-year-old Alize Millard before handing down sentences to the two people guilty of killing him. 27-year-old Dillion Millard and 31-year-old Charmaine Medicine will both spend three decades in federal prison for the crimes.

Sioux Falls Police say more than 30 people were reported to be fighting outside of a downtown Sioux Falls business during a shooting that took place early Saturday. Tekeze Kalifa, 26, of Des Moines, Iowa, was arrested with multiple charges, including aggravated assault and aggravated riot.
