Mobile City Council approves pension hike for ‘true city heroes’

MOBILE, Ala. (WALA) – The City Council on Tuesday approved a 2.5 percent cost-of-living adjustment for retired police and fire-rescue workers, the first hike in nearly two decades.

It is a move that Mayor Spiro Cheriogotis and council members described as long overdue.
