OKLAHOMA CITY (KFOR) – Wings Special Needs Community recently celebrated three ribbon-cutting ceremonies to mark the new additions to its community. The additions will expand programming, recreation, and residential opportunities for adults with developmental disabilities.
On July 20, Wings celebrated the ribbon-cutting of the J.E. and L.E. Mabee Foundation Community Commons.
Local students use STEAM project to adapt toys for kids with disabilities
The new space will provide expanded room for Wings programming, including dining, social gatherings, chapel, and Performing Arts. The new space features a stage for performances and gatherings and will also serve as rentable event space for the community.
Guests were especially excited to see the new Community Commons come to life as Wings Members took the stage for the building’s first performance and Scripture reading.
A week later, on July 28, Wings held a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the Oklahoma City Rotary Club 29’s Bike Barn. The new building will provide storage space for adaptive biking equipment used by Wings Members in the Health & Fitness Program…
