The first phase of rebuilding part of Quivira Road in Olathe is set to wrap up by the end of the year, according to an update on the city website.
The project covers improvements on Quivira Road from 143rd Street to 151st Street, where the old two-lane dirt and ditch road will be transformed into a two-lane divided arterial road, or a road divided by a median.
It will include curb and gutter additions, bike lanes, a 5-foot-wide sidewalk on the west side, a 10-foot-wide sidewalk on the east side, an enclosed storm sewer system and new street lighting.
