Jacksonville car dealership hosts supply drop-off for Colombia earthquake victims; How to help

Members of Jacksonville’s Latino community have established a relief collection site at Beaver Chevrolet to gather supplies for victims of a recent earthquake in Colombia.

The collection hub, located at 3494 Philips Highway, Jacksonville, is collecting donations to be driven to Miami. From there, the organization Defensores de la Patria Miami will manage logistics to send the items directly to affected areas in Colombia.

Local volunteers quickly organized the donation site after learning of the earthquake. Michael Bueno, a volunteer assisting with the relief effort, praised the initial community response. “It feels good and it feels nice to see the community coming together,” Bueno said…
