LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) – Multiple rounds of thunderstorms are expected to move across Nebraska over the next several days as a stalled weather pattern keeps the active storm track locked over the state.
The first significant wave arrives Wednesday evening through early Thursday morning, with the greatest threat focused on northern and western Nebraska. There is a 60 to 80% chance for showers and storms for areas along and north of Interstate 80 after midnight tonight.
As storms develop in the Panhandle around 6 p.m. Wednesday, they will organize into a powerful complex capable of producing damaging wind gusts between 65 and 80 mph — the primary threat with this system.
