Camp North End stop approved for long-awaited Red Line rail project

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — Members of the Charlotte panel overseeing transportation plans are voicing concerns about the planned stops on the Red Line commuter rail.

CATS has proposed ten initial stops for the train line linking Uptown Charlotte to northern Mecklenburg County communities, including Cornelius and Davidson.

There was no doubt about moving forward with the preapproved ten stops on the ‘Locally Preferred Alternative’ plan, but there was heavy debate on adding additional stops — a debate which dragged the meeting out over two hours…
