MERCER, Pa. (WKBN) – A driver who led police in Mercer County on a chase that spanned about 28 miles through several jurisdictions was sentenced this week in Mercer County Common Pleas Court.
Timothy Hartey, 53, of Philadelphia, was sentenced to seven to 24 months in prison after pleading guilty to aggravated assault, a second-degree felony, fleeing and eluding, a third-degree felony, and two counts of recklessly endangering another person, both second-degree misdemeanors. Other charges against him were dropped in a plea agreement. He was given credit for 240 days he has already served in the county jail.
At one point during adjudication of the case, Hartey was found incompetent to stand trial and placed into a mental health facility, pausing the criminal proceedings against him. His competency was then restored, and the trial resumed…
