GRAND RAPIDS, MI – Grand Rapids is planning to review its use of automated license plate readers after recent resident concerns have surfaced about government surveillance.
The Grand Rapids City Commission on Tuesday, Aug. 11, heard significant pushback from residents over the city’s contract with Flock Safety, a private company that makes cameras law enforcement agencies can use to capture license plates as they drive by and create searchable vehicle databases.
