Even though officials ranging from the Allegheny Sheriff’s Office to the State Attorney General have been warning people about scams claiming to be from law enforcement, the incidents continue to rack up.
Recently, a local man in his 50s was scammed out of more than $32,000 by a group of scammers who said they were with the Allegheny County Sheriff’s Office and demanded crypto currency payment for missing a court date.
