SAN BERNARDINO, Calif. — Five men have been arrested in connection with the Monday, Aug. 10, incident that saw shots fired at a police officer during the burglary of a BNSF Railway train on Cajon Pass.
The Victorville Daily Press reports suspected shooter Angel Castro, 21, and four alleged co-conspirators were arrested on Wednesday, Aug. 12, while traveling in a vehicle in San Bernardino. Castro and the other four suspects, ages 22 to 31, are all described as Mexican nationals. A statement from the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Office says “tools used for burglarizing trains” were found in the vehicle.
Castro was booked on suspicion of attempted murder, cargo theft, and criminal conspiracy, according to records, and is being held without bail. The other suspects were arrested on suspicion of cargo theft, possession of burglary tools, and criminal conspiracy…
