Two people have been convicted of a burglary in which they were caught hiding in a closet of a home in the Sunset District last year, prosecutors said.
District Attorney Brooke Jenkins’ office announced Thursday that Ervin Nicolas, 41, and Marivic Aliga, 46, were both convicted of second-degree burglary of an unoccupied house on the 700 block of Lawton Street. Nicolas also had a prior conviction for first degree burglary in 2013.
On Oct. 13, 2025, neighbors called police to report that two people had pried open a garage and were carrying items out to a Prius parked in the driveway, which the homeowners confirmed belonged to them.
