Male Teen Arrested In June Double Shooting

Following an extensive investigation into the June shooting of two individuals at the Riverwalk Homes Apartments in the 300 blcok of North Broadway, Joliet Police detectives identified a 16-year-old male juvenile as a suspect in the incident.

On June 18, 2026, detectives obtained an arrest warrant for the juvenile on the following charges: two counts of Aggravated Battery (Class X Felony), two counts of Aggravated Discharge of a Firearm (Class 1 Felony), Possession of a Firearm without a Requisite Firearm Owner’s Identification Card (Class 3 Felony), and Unlawful Possession of Firearms (Class 3 Felony).

On the afternoon of August 11, 2026, members of the U.S. Marshals Great Lakes Regional Fugitive Task Force located and took the 16-year-old suspect into custody at the Riverwalk Homes Apartments.
