ALBEMARLE COUNTY, Va. (WVIR) -The Rivanna Solid Waste Authority is hosting five free drop-off events this fall for residents of Albemarle County, the City of Charlottesville, and the Town of Scottsville.
Westley Kern, the authority’s communication and outreach coordinator, said the events are designed to reduce illegal dumping.
“The key factor behind this is it helps prevent or reduce the amount of illegal dumping in the area,” Kern said. “We want to provide an easy way for residents to come to dispose of these items without any sort of financial burden or inconvenience — that’s really what these programs are about.”…
