CLEVELAND, Ohio — Fifty-five low-income Cleveland households have gone without federal housing assistance since the beginning of August because of a funding delay that started in Washington and has worked its way down to their monthly rent payments.
The households receive help through a federal program that provides housing assistance to vulnerable low-income residents. They are still paying their required share of the rent, generally about 30% of their adjusted monthly income.
But the federal money that covers the rest hasn’t arrived…
