In late July, Kansas City leaders committed city staff to make emergency repairs to North Lawn apartments as some residents had gone weeks without power and air conditioning.
Council members said the situation at the apartment buildings in the 100 Block of North Lawn Avenue were so dire that the city needed to act fast, highlighted by the fact that the council bypassed its normal process to pass the directive immediately.
Now, three weeks later, the city is backing off from making emergency repairs as a new owner has taken over the property, despite some residents still waiting for power to be restored…
