Mayor puts NF under state of emergency

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — The City of Niagara Falls has been under a state of emergency for the past three-and-half weeks, according to Mayor Robert Restaino.

Restaino, who declared the state of emergency on July 20, released a statement regarding the matter on Saturday.

In a statement, Restaino blamed the City Council for failing to approve funding for various public safety measures. The mayor said he declared the state of emergency due to “impending and urgent threats or dangers to public health and public safety”…
