First Alert Summary:
First Alert Weather Days remain in place this weekend for threat of dangerous heat along with the potential of gusty thunderstorms. A Heat Advisory is in effect yet again for all counties in the Midlands until 8 PM this evening. Heat index values this afternoon could be as high as 105 to 110. Keep cool and stay hydrated!
The potential of showers or storms is forecast to pick up later this afternoon and evening, which could bring relief to some locations from the brutal heat. Any storms that end up forming will likely contain locally heavy rainfall, lightning and gusty winds. The Storm Prediction Center continues to outlook the Midlands under a ‘Marginal 1/5 Risk’ for some storms becoming strong or severe.
Sunday will be very similar. Feels like temperatures will climb close to 107-degrees in the afternoon with a chance of late day scattered thunderstorms.
