New LAUSD menu features favorites like pozole soup and a pork katsu sandwich

LOS ANGELES — The Los Angeles Unified School District is the second largest in the country, so crafting a new school menu that will appeal to everyone is no easy task.

Every summer, just before school begins, LAUSD unveils its new school menu with a host of new dishes that will roll out over the course of the following year, which will feed over half a million students every day.
