Henrietta, N.Y. — Shawn’s Heroes for Life is hosting the eighth annual Donor Drive for Scott on Saturday.
The drive is held in honor of Scott Hetsko’s heart donor, 26-year-old Shawn McMullen, who was a U.S. Army Scout, a wounded warrior and a registered organ donor. Scott received a heart transplant in 2015.
“Over the years, it’s remained a big drive and important to the community, which is impressive because as drives go along each year, they could die out, but this one gets a lot of the same donors every year, a lot of the same involvement and the community comes out to donate every year,” said Emily Molfese, an account manager at the American Red Cross. “It’s really important, especially right now when there’s a national blood crisis.”…
