COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) — It’s been over five years since a man reported missing in southeast Columbus was found dead inside his vehicle, but to this day police have not yet solved what they believe to be a homicide.
On March 15, 2021, Tymar Whitsett Jr. was reported missing from the Innis Garden Village neighborhood. Officers arrived at his residence in the 1300 block of Marion Drive North and police said evidence found at the scene suggested foul play had occurred. Whitsett, however, was not found.

Nearly one month later, on April 13, a vehicle that had been driven by Whitsett was located about one mile away, behind a home near the 1600 block of Smith Road. His body was found inside the vehicle, and he was positively identified as the victim.
Police believe that Whitsett was killed inside the Marion Drive apartment and then driven to the location on Smith Road. Police also believe that there were several witnesses at the alleged crime scene, but no one has yet to come forward with information.
At his disappearance, police said Whitsett was labeled as an endangered missing person due to “suspicious circumstances” and that they were “very concerned for his safety.”…
