CINCINNATI (WKRC) – Doctors at The Christ Hospital Health Network have become the first in Ohio and the Midwest to perform a heart rhythm procedure using a recently approved device that allows physicians to switch between two forms of ablation energy without changing catheters.
The procedure, performed at the hospital’s Mt. Auburn campus, was just the fourth nationwide using the FDA-approved Dual Energy THERMOCOOL SMARTTOUCH SF Platform, according to The Christ Hospital.
Dr. Andrew Noll, medical director of cardiac electrophysiology, and Dr. Alexandru Costea, director of innovation, education and research in electrophysiology, performed the procedure.
