ELIZABETHTOWN, Ky. (WKYT) – A vehicle theft scheme that originated at a Lexington dealership has begun to unravel following a multi-county police investigation in central Kentucky.
The Elizabethtown Police Department says Lexington Police entered seven vehicles as stolen after Freedom Dodge reported they were sold to “Verdigris Botanica Tribal Nation”—a Radcliff-based nonprofit—but payment was never rendered.
On Friday evening, August 14, automated “Flock” license plate readers flagged the stolen vehicles in Hardin County. Police received successive alerts for a gray Jeep and a black Ram pickup in Elizabethtown, both confirmed to be part of the stolen Lexington fleet…
